Town of Tonawanda police investigate possible abduction

Town of Tonawanda Police are asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a possible abduction Saturday morning.

Police responded at 11:20 a.m. to a Kwik Fill gas station at 2255 Military Road, where a black woman in her 20s, wearing a hoodie and black pants, was approached by a black man, about 6 feet tall, wearing a white T-shirt and black pants, in the parking lot, according to witnesses.

Police learned the man argued with the woman as a silver or gray Kia Sedona minivan – with damage to its right rear bumper – with an unknown driver waited nearby.

Police said after the two began to fight, the man forced the woman into the van through its sliding side door, then also entered the vehicle and closed the door as the van drove off north on Military Road, right onto Merle Drive and south on Delaware Avenue toward Buffalo.

Police are asking for help in identifying the woman and verifying her well-being, by calling 879-6613 or 879-6614. Callers may request to remain anonymous.
