Fire displaces six from East Side home

The Buffalo Fire Department is investigating the cause of a blaze that displaced six people from an East Side home early Saturday.

Firefighters responded at 2 a.m. to a fire at a 2½-story home on Shepard Street. No one was reported injured, and the one adult and five children living in the home were receiving help from the Red Cross.

The Buffalo Fire Department estimated the fire caused $40,000 worth of damage to the building, and $20,000 worth of damage to its contents.
