More than 80 restaurants will donate part of their evening’s proceeds for local AIDS programs on Oct. 11, the 14th edition of Dining Out for Life.
“Great strides have been made in HIV/AIDS treatment. If we can eradicate it completely – and we’re closer every day – then we need to help each other through important events such as Dining Out For Life,” said Steven Gedra, who is co-chairing the event with his wife Ellen.
The Gedras have supported the event since 2009, at their former place, Bistro Europa, and their current restaurant, The Black Sheep. “We believe in supporting the community that supports our business,” he said, “and we’re thrilled to help in any way we can.”
Most restaurants participating will donate 25 percent of food receipts, but some restaurants will donate more. Go to diningoutforlife.com/wny for the complete list. Proceeds go to Evergreen Health Services programs.
Erie Community College’s Statler Dining Room (City Campus) and Statler’s Erie Room (North Campus) will donate 100 percent.
