A 17-year-old girl was injured and her station wagon damaged as the result of a fight that broke out about 2:40 p.m. Friday during a burial at St. Matthew’s Cemetery, West Seneca.

West Seneca police said after an argument broke out during the ceremony the victim ran back to her station wagon, chased by at least one person with a baseball bat, who shattered the driver’s side windows and rear window. Another woman who had run to the station wagon also discovered the tires of her car slashed, police added.

The victim managed to drive off but crashed into five vehicles parked alongside the roadway in the Garden of St. Philip area of the cemetery, off French Road near Clinton Street, according to police. The victim was taken to the Erie County Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
