NIAGARA FALLS – The Goodyear Blimp will do a photo-op over Niagara Falls Sunday following its first trip to Toronto in more than a decade.
Wingfoot Two, the newest member of the rubber giant’s lighter-than-air fleet, was in Toronto over the past week to provide aerial support for the World Cup of Hockey and Toronto Blue Jays baseball. The rendezvous with the cataracts will come during its flight back to its home base near Akron, Ohio.
The cross-border flight path at Niagara Falls – tentatively targeted for about 10 a.m. – is weather permitting.
The state-of-the-art blimp – about the length of a U.S. football field – is capable of flying more than 70 mph.
Those spotting the blimp are urged to share on photo media using the hashtag #TrueNorthBlimp.
