Amherst’s newest apartment complex is now open for leasing.
Workers have completed the first of three new apartment buildings near University at Buffalo’s North Campus and its Muir Lake. The $16 million project will open in three phases, culminating in March 2017.
Located at 2371 North Forest Road, the Muir Lake Luxury Apartments will include 90 market-rate units, including 21 one-bedroom apartments, 63 two-bedroom units and six three-bedroom apartments, ranging in size from 877 square feet to 1,327 square feet. Rents will range from $1,184 to $1,790 per month. Each unit will feature stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops, vinyl plank flooring, and patios or balconies.
The project was originally proposed by Robert Savarino’s RAS Development Company, which shepherded it through initial approvals. But at that point, it was taken over by Matthew Cherry’s Glendale Development LLC and Robert Morgan’s Morgan Management of Rochester, who led the construction and are now managing the complex, according to Laura Galligan of Glendale. The property itself was already owned by Glendale and Morgan, who purchased it from previous owner Ronald Papa.
An open house is scheduled for Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We just opened for leasing, and construction is still going on, but the demand for these apartments has been overwhelming,” said property manager Laura Andriatch.
