Madisyn Pezzino of Grand Island hit a magic number last week.
She scored the 200th goal of her career in a win over North Tonawanda, and added four more goals in that game. The performance came only two days after Pezzino notched the game-winning goal against Aquinas.
For her accomplishments, she was named the Prep Talk Female Athlete of the Week.

How has your season gone so far?: I have 26 goals, 12 assists, 64 points. Our team is 8-1 overall and 7-0 in our league.
Favorite thing about my sport: The relationships I create with my teammates and coaches as well as all the new people I meet.
Favorite teammate: Marcy Barberic.
Toughest opponent: Aquinas.
WNY athlete I look up to: Former WNY Flash professional player Alex Sahlen.
Pro/College athlete I admire now: Cristiano Ronaldo.
When I’m not playing or practicing my sport, I’m: spending time with my friends and family.
What’s ahead: Going on to play Division I soccer at Florida State University. I’m aspiring to become a professional player as well as being on the U.S. Women’s National Team.

• Summer Slade, girls volleyball, St. Mary’s of Lancaster: Had 41 kills with a percentage of .397 in leading the Lancers to the Eden tournament title.
