Vacant building on East Delavan damaged in early morning fire

A vacant East Delavan Avenue building sustained $40,000 in damage in a fire early Monday.

The blaze at 825 E. Delavan, at the corner of Schuele Avenue, was reported at 5:03 a.m., according to the Buffalo Fire Department alarm office.

The building appeared to be undergoing repairs. The fire began in the rear of the second-floor and spread to the attic, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
