Healthy choices: Olympian to lead Slow Roll, tree climbing championships in the Falls

An Olympian-led Slow Roll, the last of this season’s outdoor fitness classes and a qualifier for the world tree climbing championships are among the Top 10 WNY Calendar Picks of the Week when it comes to health, fitness, nutrition and family friendly activities.


Slow Roll: GObike Buffalo will welcome Nelson “The Cheetah” Vails, the first African-American to win an Olympic medal in cycling, to lead this week’s community bike ride. Riders gather at 5:30 p.m. and ride starts at 6:30 sharp outside the Colored Musicians Club, 145 Broadway.

Outdoor fitness: Last week of East Aurora pickleball at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today and Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Healthy Zone Rink, 41 Riley St., East Aurora.
