Vivienne L. Schifferli, professional model in the 1960s and ’70s

Vivienne L. Schifferli, of the Town of Tonawanda, a professional model locally in the 1960s and 1970s, died Thursday in Brothers of Mercy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clarence, after a long illness. She was 87.

Born in Buffalo, the former Vivienne Ledoux was a 1947 graduate of Kenmore High School. Self-employed as a model, she appeared in advertisements for AM&A’s, Palanker Furs, Bellevue Women’s Store, Manny’s Restaurant, Charles R. Turner Heating & Cooling and Wurlitzer Piano & Organs.

Mrs. Schifferli was a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church and the Lindbergh Elementary School PTA.

Her husband of 67 years, retired Kenmore Police Officer Robert Schifferli, died Aug. 8.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela J. Erhardt; two sons, Robert A. Jr. and John W. “Jack”; a sister, Dianne Janus; a brother, Sylvester Ledoux; and four grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Christopher Catholic Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda.
