LOCKPORT – The Stoll Bros. and Workingman’s Dead will headline a benefit concert from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday in the Historic Palace Theatre, 2 East Ave.
The $15 admission price will go to the Historic Lockport Millrace Corp., a not-for-profit group of Lockport professionals. They are hoping to raise enough funds to convert the Electric Building, a five-story 19th century structure beside the locks, into an events center, perhaps with an elevator shaft converted into a thrill ride.
The group has held several fundraisers since announcing its plans in the summer of 2015, and received a $14,000 grant from Yahoo in July.
Pizza from the Village Eatery will be on sale, and there will be several raffles, attorney Laura A. Miskell Benedict said. They will include a 50-50 split, a drawing for a $500 gift card from Mills Jewelers and a drawing for a tooth whitening session from Lockport Dental Group.
