Bulletin Board (Sept. 23): Notes and events

Alumni of Niagara Wheatfield high school are invited to the annual “Once a Falcon, Always a Falcon” event at 7 p.m. Oct. 14, at the Niagara Active Hose Hall, 6010 Lockport Road in the Town of Niagara. Former football players and coaches are encouraged to attend because Hall of Fame coach Armand Cacciatore will be in attendance. It will feature music, refreshments, raffles and 50/50 drawings. BASKETBALL: Daemen basketball coach Mike MacDonald will host the Little Dribblers Basketball School at St. Benedict in Amherst on Saturday mornings, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. from Sept. 24 to Nov. 12. Cost is $125 and for boys and girls ages 4-9. For more info, call 818-1100. ...Tony Watson, former University at Buffalo basketball player, will lead a series of clinics for guards starting Sept. 25 on Sundays, 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sessions are for boys in sixth grade and above with intermediate to advanced skill level. HOCKEY: The Niagara University Department of Athletics will host the third annual Purple Eagles Hockey Dinner on Oct. 3 at the Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston. This year’s guest speaker is 16-year NHL veteran and current NBC sports hockey analyst Eddie Olczyk.
