Two face drug charges after Niagara County traffic stops

Two Niagara Falls residents face drug possession charges after separate traffic stops Tuesday.

Shawn Chateauneuf, 52, was pulled over just before 7 p.m. on Military Road in the Town of Niagara because of a lane violation, State Police said.

Chateauneuf failed field sobriety tests and also had several Hydrocodone pills in his possession. At the Niagara barracks, he registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.11 percent. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Troopers pulled over Savannah Fiorentini, 21, on Niagara Street in Niagara Falls at about 10:31 p.m. for failing to use a turn signal, State Police said.

A pipe with burnt marijuana residue and an unmarked pill bottle containing several Alprazolam pills were found inside her vehicle. She was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
