Defense attorney will try to have Lockport principal’s charges dismissed

LOCKPORT – The attorney for a Lockport school principal charged with two misdemeanor counts of child endangerment said Thursday she has been given until Oct. 12 to file motions attempting to have the charges dismissed.

Michele G. Bergevin, representing James A. Snyder, made her first appearance in the case before North Tonawanda City Judge William R. Lewis Wednesday.

Snyder, 45, principal of North Park Junior High School, was replaced, at least for the time being, after his arrest Aug. 9. He was accused of making suggestive comments to a girl and throwing a plastic bottle at his daughter during a pool party at Snyder’s City of Lockport home July 16.
