Buffalo’s rebirth is evident in high demand for housing
Buffalo is booming, without a doubt. There is a new optimism in the region as a whole, and after years of taking it on the metaphorical chin, Buffalo is on the rise once more.
Congressman Brian Higgins is right on the money: public investment in infrastructure throughout the region, and in downtown and nearby environs particularly, has had a tremendously positive impact. From the funding for improvements on the Medical Campus to the restoration of cars on Main Street to the wholesale change that has occurred along the water’s edge at Canalside, all of these changes have made a huge difference.
Our members in the real estate industry have seen the change and it has resulted in incredible demand for quality housing in the city. People want to live close to where they are working, and with the tax incentives available to developers to rehabilitate historic structures – tax incentives that Higgins fought to preserve on the federal level – that demand is being met.
These are great days for Buffalo and Western New York, and the Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors looks forward to more in the months and years to come.
