17-year-old arrested after early-morning stabbing in Buffalo

A 17-year-old stabbed a man in the hand Tuesday morning on Bailey Avenue near Langfield Drive, Buffalo police said. The teen, whose name was not released, was later arrested a few blocks away.

The stabbing happened at about 5:30 a.m. on the 2700 block of Bailey, Buffalo police said. The 17-year-old used a metal hair pick to stab a 45-year-old man during an altercation.

The teen was arrested near Bailey and Oakmont avenues a short time later, police said.

He was charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The 45-year-old was treated and released from Erie County Medical Center.
