LOCKPORT – A onetime employee of Armstrong Pumps in North Tonawanda admitted Monday that he and his brother stole and scrapped $34,000 worth of metal objects from the plant.
Nicholas R. Pompeo, 40, of Ermann Drive, Kenmore, was allowed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor, second-degree criminal trespass, because he came up with his $17,000 share of the restitution before the plea, Niagara County Assistant District Attorney Kevin D. Canali said.
Pompeo is to be sentenced Dec. 9 by Judge Sara Sheldon. Pompeo was no longer working at Armstrong at the time of the thefts in March 2015.
Pompeo’s brother, Anthony Pompeo, who according to Canali never worked for the company, previously made $17,000 restitution and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in North Tonawanda City Court. Canali said the brothers stole “pipe fittings, brass, high-value metals.”
