Red Hot Chili Peppers to warm Buffalo in February

For the first time since Aug. 15, 2000, when the band shared a bill with Stone Temple Pilots at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will offer their funk-rap-rock hybrid to a Buffalo audience.

The band will play the KeyBank Center, formerly the First Niagara Center, on Feb. 10. This will be one of only 24 dates on the Peppers’ North American tour, which comes in support of its recently released album “The Getaway.” In a stroke of funk-based genius, the band has enlisted keeper of the New Orleans music flame Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue as opening act.
