LEWISTON – The 33rd annual Lewiston Harvest Festival will take place next weekend along Center Street in the village.
This free festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and next Sunday, will showcase the work of more than 100 vendors, featuring artwork, jewelry, woodwork, candles and handmade crafts.
In addition, a variety of food vendors can be found along the craft show route and specialty boutiques, retail shops and local restaurants also will be open, adding to the charm of the village festival atmosphere.
The Farmers Market, located on South Fifth Street and Center Street, will include a variety of fall harvest produce favorites, wine, fresh cider, hardy mums, fresh honey and more. Live music and entertainment can be found throughout the festival, with the Hot Country Line Dancers performing in the Key Bank parking lot at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and a Lewiston Music Showcase from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Hennepin Park Gazebo.
“This annual event has become a fall favorite for both the community and visitors,” said Jennifer Pauly, president of the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce, which coordinates the event. “The festival has grown throughout the years. Next year, we hope to close Center Street to be able to accommodate more vendors, entertainment and food/beverage.”
The Mighty Niagara Half Marathon will run through Center Street starting at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, so the street will be temporarily closed from about 9 a.m. through 9:45 a.m. The New York Power Authority Wildlife Festival also takes place the same weekend at the Visitor Center.
Visitors can ride the Niagara Discovery Shuttle between the two festivals.
