Woman accused of clawing cops quelling domestic dispute

A Lovejoy woman was arrested Saturday morning and charged with assaulting police officers after they refused to kick her boyfriend out of her apartment.

Shavonna Bridges, whose age was not given, was charged with second-degree assault, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child.

Ferry-Fillmore District officers were called to the Ludington Street residence about 7:20 a.m., when Bridges demanded that her boyfriend be removed. The man produced current identification cards and mail with the apartment listed as his home address.

Bridges dug her fingernails into one officer’s face, pulled another officer’s hair, and also threw punches at the officers, a police report said. Two children were in the apartment at the time.
