Man charged with vehicular manslaughter, DWI in Sept. 2 Chautauqua crash

A 29-year-old Lakewood man was charged Tuesday with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign for a Sept. 2 collision that killed a 22-year-old Stockton man, The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Jude M. Gagliano was arraigned in the Town of Ellery Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail for the crash at the intersection of Sinclair Drive and Route 380 that killed Charles M. Clutter just after 9 p.m. that date.

Clutter was pronounced dead at the scene; Gagliano was taken by Mercy Flight to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., for treatment of his injuries.
