Fran Bevilaqua has been named director of clinical operations at Dent Neurologic Institute. She joined Dent earlier this year as an experienced medical practice manager and past president of the Buffalo chapter of the Medical Group Management Association.


Tully Rinckey PLLC announced Melissa A. Mummery joined its Labor and Employment Law Practice Group as an associate. Mummery obtained her juris doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law. She previously received her bachelor’s degrees in business management and philosophy from SUNY Geneseo,


Frank Todaro, CEO and president of Collision Masters LLC, received the distinguished alumni award from Erie 1 BOCES. The award is granted once a year to various divisions throughout Erie 1 BOCES, recognizing outstanding achievement in the individual’s field.

The Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman law firm has opened offices in Burlington, Ont., and New York City. The Buffalo-based firm opened an office in Albany about a year ago.


North American Breweries will invest $49.1 million at its Genesee Brewery in Rochester, and create 128 jobs as part of the project. Rochester-based North American Breweries is the parent company of Buffalo-based Labatt USA.


The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, awarded a $115,000 extended St. Baldrick’s Scholar award to support the work of Dr. Matthew Barth, a researcher at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo and a physician with UBMD Pediatrics.
