INGALSBE - Edward E. Of Batavia, NY, formerly of Akron, NY, age 97, entered into rest September 10, 2016 at the New York State Veterans Home, Batavia, NY, beloved husband of the late Marjorie (nee Nice) Ingalsbe; loving father of Marvin (Lisa) Ingalsbe of Batavia, NY; cherished grandfather of Michelle (Michael) Scinta, Jessica Ingalsbe, Erin (Steve) Fink and Taylor Graff; brother of the late Fred, Vern, John, Otis (Joe) and Nellie Baker; also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will be present Tuesday, September 13th from 2-4 and 5-7 PM to receive friends in the BERNHARDT FUNERAL HOME, 130 Main St., Akron, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Wednesday, September 14th at 11 AM at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Bloomingdale Rd., Akron, NY for Graveside Services and Burial. A luncheon will be held for all to attend at 12 Noon in the Akron Ale House, Main St., Akron, NY. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials made to the NYS Veterans Home, Batavia, NY, Resident Activities Fund would be appreciated by the family. Edward served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from the National Gypsum Co. after 44 years of employment at plants in Akron, NY, Clarence Center, NY and Loraine, OH and at the Corporate Office when located in Buffalo, NY. After retirement in 1981, he served the Town of Newstead for 12 years as a member and Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals and as a member of the Newstead Town Board. He was a life member and past Commander of the LL Tillman Post #900 of the American Legion, a life member of the National Rifle Association and a former member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Newstead. He enjoyed many sports, having pitched a no hit, no run game in fast pitch softball, scored a hole in one at Terry Hills Golf Course at age 76 and held a Pilot's License.
