Keith Decker coasted to victory in the 28th annual Senior Porter Cup, which finished up on Friday at the Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston.
Decker, from Martinsville, Va., had a 68 to finish at 206 for the 54-hole event. That was good for a five-shot win in the Senior Division (50-64) over Steve Humphrey of Lexington, Ky.
Decker shot a two-under 33 on the back side, which didn’t allow Humphrey to gain any ground down the stretch.
John Armstrong didn’t have his best day, but his 77 was good enough to finish the Super Senior portion of the tournament at 215. That was three shots ahead of Jim Castagna and Don Kuehn.
Armstrong of Frostburg, Md., started the day with an eight-shot cushion. He had gone 66-72 in the first two rounds, and he needed the room those rounds provided as Castagna and Kuehn made it interesting.
The closest competition of the tournament was in the Legends Division. Skip Snow parred the 18th hole to take a one-shot win over Fred Silver.
Snow, from Dayton, Ohio, finished at 217 after a score of 72. Silver matched that score to fall one shot short.
