Separation of church, state rings true in adoption case
It was gratifying to read that 23 years ago Judge Joseph Mattina had the wisdom to allow a single parent to adopt a baby. However, it should not go unnoticed that he had to remove from the case a religious institution that insisted the baby be placed with a married couple.
This is another example of why the separation of church and state is so important.
We cannot let religious dogma interfere with human reasoning.
