Four people were arrested in two separate drug incidents Saturday night in Buffalo after police found them with heroin, crack cocaine and prescription painkillers.
Brandon Rucker, 30, of Amherst and Jessica Rucker, 33, of Buffalo, were charged with possession of controlled substances, when police responded to a 911 call at 171 Trowbridge St. and found the pair in a car with two metal caps containing residue and cotton in “plain view” in the car. Both were believed to contain heroin, while a clear plastic bag was also found with a small white rock, believed to be crack. Another piece of cotton with residue in a metal container was also found on the car keys.
Separately, but almost simultaneously, a police officer saw a man leaning into the front passenger window of a gray 2007 Toyota Scion at Hamilton and Dearborn streets, in an area notorious for drug sales. According to a police report, the officer stopped and spotted the passenger, Derek J. Schlifke, of Buffalo, “making furtive movements in the area to his left near the center console.” Police recovered 3.5 tablets of hydrocodone inside the gear shifter area.
Schlifke and Kyle R. Vogel, also of Buffalo, were arrested.
