Business People for the week of Sept. 4

McGuire Development Co. has hired Brian Askey as associate director of development. He earned his MBA at St. John Fisher College.

ABC-Amega has hired Michele Gerst as director of outsourcing. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Medaille College.

Dr. Frank Barnashuk was named trustee for the Eighth District to the New York State Dental Association. Barnashuk received his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University at Buffalo and bachelor’s degree in biology at Canisius College.

Medaille College has named Lorie V. Quigley as vice president for academic affairs. She earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University and her master’s and doctoral degrees from Fordham University.

Kate D. Noble of Canandaigua National Bank and Trust, has been promoted to senior vice president – trust administration officer and serves as a team Leader within the Wealth Strategies Group.

Sandhill Investment Management has hired Tom Baker as vice president – business development. Baker, who has 20 years of experience in the investment management industry, is a graduate of Michigan State University.

Bank of Akron announced the promotion of Lori English to assistant vice president. She is a graduate of Canisius College.

Kimberly Gromoll, Bank of Akron’s marketing manager, was promoted to assistant vice president. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo.

The Bank of Akron promoted Kimberly Staniszewski to assistant vice president. Staniszewski, who has been with the bank for 21 years, is a graduate of Genesee Community College.

Dr. Nadeem Hussain, medical director of Kenmore Mercy’s Medical Rehabilitation Unit, was named the hospital’s Doctor of Distinction for 2016. Hussain, who has been affiliated with Kenmore Mercy since 2014, completed his medical education at the Drexel University College of Medicine, followed by an internship at Abington Memorial Hospital. He also completed a physical medication and r ehabilitation residency at Temple University Hospital/Moss Rehabilitation Hospital.

BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York has appointed Adam Dunning as director, health care economics. Dunning earned a bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo.

Cohen & Lombardo P.C. has hired Francesco A. Savoia as an associate attorney. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law. He previously attended St. Mary’s University, School of Law in San Antonio and the University of Toronto, where he received his bachelor’s degree.
