Kenmore East and Lewiston-Porter played to a 1-1 tie in a Niagara Frontier League boys soccer game. Dominic Dragone had the goal for Lew-Port, while Ryan Moccio tallied for the Bulldogs. The Lancers received some good defensive work from Chase Harasimowicz and Zack Westadt.
Elsewhere, goalkeeper Tim Calkins pitched a shutout for Niagara-Wheatfield in a 4-0 win over North Tonawanda. Noah Vallas, Tom Hassen, Mike Tilkins and Alex Shawver scored for the Falcons. Dominic Lusthaus had two goals while Jack Lussier supplied two assists in Kenmore West’s 4-1 win over Niagara Falls. Andrew Putnam had the shutout for Lockport in a 6-0 win over CSAT; Colin McWilliams scored two goals for the Lions.
In D’Youville Cup play, Solomon Thang scored three goals and Pa Lu tallied twice to pace I-Prep to a 7-0 win over Olmsted. Rashid Put was credited with the shutout. Aristole Muangala of McKinley had seven saves in a 6-0 shutout of City Honors.
Panthers take a title
The girls’ soccer season has just begun, and Portville already has a championship to its credit. The Panthers defeated Bradford (Pa.), 4-0, to take the championship of the Bradford Tournament.
Elsewhere, Eva Tapani had three goals for East Aurora in a 6-0 ECIC III win over Lake Shore. The Blue Devils moved to 2-1 on the season.
In ECIC II, Caitlin Goter had the game-winning goal for Hamburg, as the Bulldogs edged Iroquois, 2-1.
