Driver crashes into fence, trees now faces felony DWI charge

RANDOLPH – A 25-year-old man who was convicted last year of driving while intoxicated faces a felony DWI charge after he drove off the road and crashed into a fence and trees early Friday, State Police said.

Zachary Walters of Randolph was driving east on Coldspring Street when he left the road and drove over a lawn, with his vehicle coming to rest after it struck the fence and trees, police said.

Walters was transported to WCA Hospital in Jamestown for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger was treated by emergency responders and released, police said.

Walters was charged with felony DWI after police learned he was convicted of DWI last year, police said. He was issued tickets for Cold Spring Town Court and released.
