The 31st annual Great Lakes Beach Sweep will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, organizers announced.
Volunteers of any age are invited to help clean up garbage, including plastic bottles, balloons, cigarette butts and other items from beaches, rivers and waters across the region.
The main local base of operations will be at Woodlawn Beach State Park in Hamburg.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.
All volunteers will receive a free hot dog for assisting with the beach clean-up.
