I got a press release earlier this week from Deep South Taco, announcing it's having an end-of-summer "beach party" Sunday, Sept. 4, at its Ellicott Street location. I took the opportunity to ask for an update on the Hertel restaurant.
Here's the answer I got:
"We are thinking 60 days away from opening. Construction has been coming along and we are in the hiring process for staff. We are planning to host a job fair at the Hertel location soon."
Something to chew on
Another food truck license is being requested from the city. This one from Carnivorous. I think it's safe to say they will be serving meat.
I thumbed though the pile of papers filed so far with the City Clerk for the upcoming Common Council meetings and was struck by all the requests for signs.
- LED pole sign in front of Tony's Ranch House restaurant, 2285 Main St.
- Ground sign for Rainbow K early childhood classes, 433 Franklin St.
- Ground sign for Notaro & Laing law firm, 217 Linwood Ave.
- Freestanding and canopy sign at 250 Delaware office building.
The signs all need Planning Board as well as Council approval.
