NIAGARA FALLS – Beginning next week, the city will pave eight more streets to complete the third phase of this year’s $2 million paving project.
Roads to be paved include Krull Parkway, between 82nd Street and Military Road, and others in the LaSalle neighborhood.
Niagara Falls kicked off its 2016 in-house paving program in May and paved 10 streets in seven weeks. Phase II, another nine streets, was finished on Tuesday with final paving work along 92nd Street.
When Phase III is completed, 27 streets will have been paved by city crews. The infrastructure improvements were funded by $1.6 million in casino funds and $963,000 in state Consolidated Highway Improvement Program funds.
Work is also underway as part of Phase II on the Buffalo Avenue Reconstruction Project, a stretch between 65th Street to the LaSalle Expressway, funded through a combination of federal and state funds. This work will include sidewalk repairs and new signage, and is expected to be completed by the end of October.
