ONE MORE – Is summer over already? Not quite. This Tuesday evening Williamsville Arts & Culture Committee hosts one final installment in its 7 Tuesdays in Island Park free summer concert series. Performing from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Island Park behind Amherst Town Hall will be Carina & the Six String Preacher. As usual, the Anderson’s food truck will be on hand with beef on weck sandwiches and ice cream.


BEDTIME STORY – Clifford the Big Red Dog will pay a return visit to the final program in the EPIC (Every Person Influences Children) Storytime Summer Series for children up to age 8 from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Canalside downtown. It will be a pajama party, co-hosted by WNED, and youngsters are encouraged to come in sleepwear. For more info on EPIC, visit


MOVABLE FEAST – The Shriners of Western New York will hold their first Fall Food Truck Rodeo from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Shrine Center, 1600 Southwestern Blvd., West Seneca. Trucks from local restaurants and vendors will offer a wide variety of food, beverages and desserts. Seating will be available inside and outdoors. The Shriners plan to host food trucks every Wednesday through September.


BIG NIGHT – More than 500 are expected to attend the 25th annual Farewell to Summer gala to benefit Orchard Lake Seminary in Orchard Lake, Mich., will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Millennium Hotel Buffalo, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. Bishop Richard Malone, former Bishop Edward U. Kmiec and Auxiliary Bishop Edward Grosz have been invited.

The seminary, which prepares men for the priesthood, includes a number of young men from Poland who will be serving in American parishes after they are ordained.

Tickets are $30 and are available by mail. Checks payable to Orchard Lake Seminary, along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope, should be sent to Edward J. Reska, 4654 Kingswood Lane, Hamburg, NY 14075. Deadline for reservations is Thursday. For more info, call 648-0370.


LUNCHEON DATE – Saturday is the deadline for reservations for the U.B. Women’s Club Fall Membership Luncheon at noon Sept. 10 in the Orchard Park Country Club, 4777 S. Buffalo St., Orchard Park.
