Trump, GOP ignore facts, lay the blame on Obama
Donald Trump totally disrespected and dishonored the father of a Muslim-American soldier who gave his life defending his comrades in arms. Carl Paladino agreed with Trump. I know Trump did not serve in our military and really does not appreciate the freedoms he has because of the sacrifices made by our men and women in the military.
In the movie, “A Few Good Men,” one of the characters asks another why she is so passionately involved in the defense of two Marines. She replies: “Because they stand on a wall and say, ‘Nothing’s going to hurt you tonight, not on my watch.’ ”
The death of a son is tragic enough; it is more painful when that son dies for his country. Khizr Khan deserves our love and respect for the sacrifice his son made for our freedom.
Trump’s recent attack on President Obama for being “the founder of ISIS” is not based on fact. After the United States and its allies toppled Saddam Hussein’s regime, President George W. Bush allowed the total dismantling of both the Iraqi army and police, thus creating a vacuum that allowed ISIS to enter Syria and Iraq. There are other factors involved as well.
It appears to me that both Trump and the Republicans do not want to take any responsibility for our foreign policy. It is easier to blame the president.
