WILSON -- Brittney Kindzia, 30, of Irish Road, was accused Friday of illegally obtaining over $3,000 worth of public benefits, according to Niagara County Sheriff James R. Voutour.

Following an investigation by the sheriff’s Welfare Fraud Unit and the Niagara County Department of Social Services, Kindzia was charged with illegally obtaining the benefits between last October and this past March. Sheriff Voutour said she was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree welfare fraud and three counts of first-degree filing a false instrument. She was released on an appearance ticket after her arraignment Friday in Lockport City Court.
