Two men were arrested in the first block of Zittel Street early Thursday after a young man was taken to the Erie County Medical Center for treatment of a possible broken neck and other injuries, after a violent attack, according to Buffalo police.
Jonathan Tyner, 21, of Reservation Street, and Austin Harig, 18, of Zittel Street, were arrested by police at the scene of the incident about 2:25 a.m.. according to Buffalo police.
Both men were charged with first-degree gang assault, third-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and second-degree harassment, according to Buffalo police.
Police reported arriving after a call for help and finding the victim laying at the foot of a porch, bleeding from a head wound with both his eyes swollen shut, the police reports show. The police officers reported the victim also had a head fracture and some fractured or missing teeth.
Initially taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, the victim had to be taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of a possible broken neck and his other injuries.
Both suspects remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Thursday night pending further court proceedings. The condition of the victim at ECMC could not be obtained.
