SUNY Buffalo State is offering a car-sharing service from its campus.
The college has partnered with Zipcar to offer the service to students and employees over age 18 and area residents over 21, the college announced Wednesday.
Initially, two Ford Focus sedans will be available. There are designated spots for the vehicles in lot G-22 on Grant Street and lot R-4 near the center of campus.
This year, Buffalo State employees and students can join for $15. Usage rates are as low as $7.50 per hour and $69 per day. After the first year, membership rates increase to $25.
Gas, insurance and up to 180 miles of driving per day are included in the rates. Vehicles may be reserved for a little as an hour or for multiple days.
