Corfu woman arrested for DWI, property damage and resisting arrest

ATTICA – Jessica L. Zellner, 26, of Corfu, was arrested early Friday morning for alleged drunk driving, two property damage incidents and trying to escape from police, the Attica Police Department announced Tuesday. Zellner was pulled over on Route 98 in the Village of Attica about 3 a.m. Friday for driving and she was determined to be drunk.

After further investigation by Attica police and Wyoming County sheriff deputies, Zellner was also charged with having left the scene of property damage incidents within the previous hour or so on Maxon Road in the Town of Bennington and on Route 354 in the Village of Attica.

Then, as she was being taken into custody she refused to take a breath test and was also charged with unlawfully having marijuana in her vehicle, police said. Later at the Attica Police Department while she was being booked, she got into two skirmishes with officers and was charged with resisting arrest, attempted escape and misdemeanor assault.

At her Attica Village Court arraignment that morning she was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in Warsaw in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or a $20,000 bail bond. She faces further proceedings in Attica Village Court on Sept. 12.
