A Rochester shippping and transportation company will lease 50,000 square feet near Buffalo Niagara International Airport, taking up warehouse space formerly occupied by FedEx.
C&M Forwarding Co., a freight-forwarding firm that provides warehousing and transportation services, will occupy the space at the Concourse Center on Genesee Street in Cheektowaga. This will be the firm’s first location in Western New York. The company will use the space to better serve clients in Canada and the Midwest, according to a press release from McGuire Development Co., which owns the 466,000-square-foot Concourse Center property.
The Concourse Center, which McGuire acquired in late 2012 when it was 43 percent occupied, is now 98 percent full. McGuire invested in capital improvements and a new roof. McGuire, an arm of McGuire Group that is both a developer and brokerage firm, said it plans to build a 50,000-square-foot warehouse facility on an outparcel at the site to meet an increased local demand for flex, warehouse and industrial space.
“The Concourse Center is the most accessible warehouse building in Western New York,” said McGuire Development President Jim Dentinger. “With its driveway being only 500 feet from the entrance to the Kensington Expressway and less than one mile from the New York State Thruway, our tenants have found it to be an incredibly easy and efficient location to do business.”
