LOCKPORT – Jessica L. Dittly, a former City of Lockport business owner, has been named the new program director at Lockport Main Street Inc., a grant-funded promotion agency for downtown Lockport.
Dittly, who started work Monday, said she is earning $20 an hour in the full-time job for the organization, which seeks to promote Lockport business and operates the Community Market on Saturdays during the summer and early fall. She has one part-time employee.
Dittly, who owned the now-closed Cream & Sugar Cafe, said she has plans to establish a winter market and work on beautification projects. Lockport Main Street has an annual budget of about $70,000, derived from a grant from the Grigg-Lewis Foundation and the Greater Lockport Development Corp., which is the city development agency.
Dittly succeeds Heather B. Peck, who joined the GLDC as vice president.
