The Independent Health Foundation will continue its Good for the Neighborhood program with four free community events this month in Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
The program brings health screenings, educational information and a free farmers market to underserved neighborhoods in the region.
You do not need to be an Independent Health member to attend.
- Tuesday: 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Belle Center, 104 Maryland St.
- Thursday: 6 to 7:30 p.m., West Side Community Services, 161 Vermont St.
- Aug. 25: 5 to 6:30 p.m., Doris Jones Family Resource Building, 3001 Ninth St., Niagara Falls.
- Aug. 31: 5 to 6:30 p.m., Westminster Community Charter School, 24 Westminster Ave.
During these events, those who attend will be able to receive free health screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose levels. Everyone who gets a health screening will receive a prize. Healthy recipes and food samples will be available, and living a healthy lifestyle will be emphasized.
