Elmwood Avenue’s Pasion restaurant has rebooted its menu, doubling down on Cuban cuisine, courtesy of its new chef, Havana native Adrian Muñoz, who came to the United States four months ago.
“All the recipes he has are authentic,” owner Yeslin Greason, who selected Muñoz after a chef hunt that started on Miami Craigslist. “Recipes that have been there forever, he is bringing them to us.”
Launched Aug. 12 at the restaurant, 153 Elmwood Ave., the new menu sheds almost all of the pan-Latino grab-bag of its previous incarnation.
Now it includes appetizers like meatloaf stuffed with green olives ($8), and chilled seafood terrine with cilantro cream ($12). Entrees include chilindron de cordero borrachito, lamb shank braised in beer and sugarcane ($18) and calamari stuffed with crabmeat, cheese and spices ($19).
