LOCKPORT – Friday is the deadline for new voters – or those who have recently moved – to register to take part in the Sept. 13 primary election for state and local offices.
In Niagara County, the Board of Elections office, at 111 Main St. in Lockport, will remain open until 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday to accommodate voter registrations. The office’s normal hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Registration forms also are available at town and county halls, post offices, public libraries and banks. They may be mailed in and are valid for the primary if postmarked by Friday.
The deadline to register to vote in the presidential election is Oct. 14. Any person who has moved since the last time they voted must re-register in order to be eligible.
