Lockport apartment fire causes $22,000 in damage

LOCKPORT – A two-alarm fire at a two-family home on Sunday afternoon caused more than $22,000 in damage.

Firefighters responded to 102 Elmwood Ave. just after 4 p.m. and saw smoke coming from the upper apartment.

The resident of the lower apartment was already outside and neighbors told firefighters the resident of the upper apartment had recently left.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, the fire department said. The cause is under investigation.
