Trump knows very little of constitutional process
Donald Trump’s statement that Hillary Clinton will do away with the Second Amendment highlights his ignorance of the constitutional process. Changing the Constitution requires a proposal by two-thirds of each of the Houses of Congress, or having two-thirds of the state legislatures call for a convention for proposing amendments. Once the amendment has been proposed, ratification requires a three-fourths majority of the state legislatures or of state conventions held for that purpose.
Neither the president nor the Supreme Court is involved in the process. Thanks again, Donald, for your impressive understanding of how the government works.
By the way, Trump’s ex-wife, Ivana, said that he used to read a book of Hitler’s collected speeches. Perhaps that’s how he developed his style of public speaking.
