Former University at Buffalo quarterback Joe Licata made his National Football League debut on Friday night, as his Cincinnati Bengals dropped a 17-16 decision to the Minnesota Vikings in Cincinnati.
Licata came on in the fourth quarter, and finished the game 3 of 7 for 82 yards.
“I think it went pretty well,” he said. “We had a chance to win in the end, and didn’t pull it out. But we did a lot of good things out there.”
Licata was playing in front of his entire family as well as some teammates from college and other friends. He estimated that about 15 to 20 people came to see him.
“Andy Dalton asked me before the game if I was shaking,” Licata said. “I told him, ‘Not really.’ He said, ‘I was really shaking before my first game.’ ”
