After being stood up for a ride, man is beaten robbed during walk home

NIAGARA FALLS – A North Tonawanda man was beaten and robbed early Saturday after being stood up by a family member and forced to walk home, Niagara Falls police said.

The 28-year-old victim began walking home from the 2500 block of Ferry Avenue about 5 a.m. after a family member who was supposed to pick him up never showed, police said. A block later, two teenage males on bicycles attacked him, knocked him to the ground, stole cigarettes, seizure medication and $70 in cash, then kicked him in the stomach before fleeing north on 26th Street, police reported.

Police said that the victim did not appear to be seriously injured.
