LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man who eluded police for eight months after failing to show up for arraignment on a drug indictment was captured Thursday and brought to State Supreme Court, where he pleaded not guilty.
Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. set $25,000 bail on Antonio M. Anderson, 26, of Ashland Avenue.
A bench warrant was issued by Kloch Nov. 13, when Anderson didn’t appear to answer an indictment accusing him of three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count each of marijuana possession and having drug paraphernalia.
Assistant District Attorney Laura T. Bittner said at the time that police searched Anderson’s apartment May 7, 2015, and seized suspected cocaine, marijuana and a Suboxone strip. Bittner said Anderson ran from the scene, throwing away some alleged cocaine as he did so.
