There’s corn in Eden, despite the drought.
The 53rd annual Eden Corn Festival continues through Sunday evening at the American legion grounds off Route 62.
The midway opens at noon each day, and there is entertainment each night.
The traditional corn events – corn husking and corn eating contests – take place Saturday afternoon. The parade starts at noon Sunday on Route 62.
And there will be thousands of ears of corn on the cob, grown in Eden, consumed throughout the weekend at booths run by Eden volunteer firefighters. Various community groups raise funds at the festival that help fund their efforts the rest of the year.
