NIAGARA FALLS – Historic Holy Trinity is planning a summer recital and Polish dinner as its annual fundraising event on Aug. 7.
Doors open at 3:30 p.m. at 1419 Falls St., Niagara Falls, and students from Gary Sage Studios will perform at 4 p.m. in the beautiful church that once served the city’s East Side Polish community. This event will be followed by a Polish dinner at Gadawski’s Restaurant, located next door, at 1445 Falls St. The Polish dinner includes: golombki, pierogi, Polish sausage, sauerkraut, coffee/tea, dessert and a cash bar. A children’s dinner of chicken fingers and fries will be available for those 12 and under for $10.
Tickets are $25 per person for dinner and recital, or a $10 goodwill offering to attend the recital only. Organizers are asking for a $5 goodwill offering for children 12 to 15. It is free for younger children. Advance tickets are required for the dinner and must be purchased by Aug. 2. Tickets are available at Gadawski’s Restaurant and at Historic Holy Trinity from 6 to 8 p.m. Fridays, during its Historic Church tours, as well as in the Community Thrift Store from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, or by calling 299-0799.
The complex is listed on the national and state Registers of Historic Places and includes the 1905 church, 1914 school, 1907 rectory, 1910 convent and carriage house/garage. Historic Holy Trinity is a 501(c) nonprofit organization that is run under the auspices of Niagara Heritage of Hope and Service.
